YOUR BEGININGS?
I was literally born in the music/club scene. My parents meet each other in the club where my father was resident dj, so this explains why for me, music is kind of a natural thing. I still remember when I was 5/6 years old and my father (who was a DJ) used to bring me to the Notorious Club Time in Milan, Italy for the set-up and sound check of the afternoon session. When he was checking the booth, I was hanging out with the security guys who were my personal “babysitters” before the party started, then my mom came and picked me up to let my father do his gig!
BEST FESTIVAL/PARTY BRAND?
I will answer ELROW! One of the musically best and funny experience in my life (I attended 4 times) unfortunately have no chance to play there yet 🙂 . I need to also mention Australian: Rainbow Festival, Pitch Festival, and many more from the Melburnian scene.
YOUR DJ ROUTINE?
I’m not the kind of DJ who prepares music before a gig. I arrive at the club, I see the vibe and plug one of my 7 flash disks and… let my instincts do the rest. I can play many different styles, from sunset organic afro house, pre-party house music, to-party minimal deep tech, and after-party deeper techno.
DO YOU PRODUCE MUSIC?
I have been producing music for 2 years now, and in 2023 I have 12 tracks: singles and EP. My main genres are: tech house, minimal deep tech. I also produced 2 tracks of organic house. This year I will focus more on minimal deep tech house. Soon coming, my new EP for Lemon Juice Records and a single for X House Tribe Recordings.
FAVorite SOFTware?
Before I played PlayStation, now I play Ableton! I feel very confident about it. I customized my own midi file with my own keyboard and I have my sample packs. My studio is my Mac, two speakers and a keyboard, plus. My brain and creative ideas! I believe this is what is most important in music production – originality; you don’t need anything more. When I’m in a good mood and feel inspired, I can write a track in 6–7 hours from the empty screen to full of arrangements, then in the next days I will need a few more hours for the details and mastering!
FUN FACT ABOUT SIMO WHITE?
Before becoming a DJ, I was a chef in a high-end kitchen. I always liked creating things. Now I create music!
