RaySoo continues to discover the many layers and meaning of sounds and emotions through the bigger purpose of sharing his gifts with the world to make a positive impact. His label Love International turns 16 in 2023 with more than 130 releases to date by artist from around the globe. He released his debut album Love Again in 2016. 2018 saw him setting base in Bali and playing across the island’s best beach and nightclubs, and joining some of his electronic music heroes DJ Koze, Robag Wruhme et al on the Nevermind Booking agency. His new artist album is ready in 2023 and will drop in 2024.

Slzzpzr is RaySoo’s 2nd full length studio album, a followup to his Love Again album released in 2016. A broad mix of his signature eclecticism in electronism. Slzzpzr continues to showcase his love for all things deep and exotic starting from opening track In Another Way with ambient eletronica to slow funked up cosmic disco house A Step Closer to the dancefloor techouse bomb Muska to some sublime vocal house By Your Side feat. RunRun, to electro breakbeat rave number Octto to the techno fueled epic closing track Environ. 2024 also celebrates Ray’s 20th year of professional djing since becoming a fulltime resident dj at the infamous Zouk Kuala Lumpur when it opened in 2004
How has it been so far for you since your last album release back in 2016 with Love Again?
its been great.. learning to be a better human being every day to contribute more and positively to my fam, community and the world..and serve a bigger purpose as an artist not just as an entertainer but also spreading the right messages and as a role model for the youger generation.
You’ve just released your new album Slzzpzr. Could you let us know how did this come about? What went into writing it and where did the inspiration for the album and your tracks and songs come from?
From now i’d like to release an album at least once every 2 years as a love letter to everyone old and new who enjoys my music.. also to keep myself accountable and make sure i do the work as an artist. the album was created at home solely on my laptop and speakers. alot of sampling.. inspiration come from living life, travelling, music, art , food, nature, culture, reading, family etc
How did you go about recording and performing it so far, what has been the response like?
Now the album is released, i’m going on the Slzzpzr album tour May + June in Asia, July Europe and Aug north and south America tour to promote the album.. with the idea to conclude the America tour at Burning Man this year.. fingers crossed
What are plans this year for your label Love International?
many dope releases coming after the album release. music by DJ Ino & MC Johnny Def from Spain , Ridwan G & Leftlove , Deefo from Indonesia.. and some new hot developing talent from Malaysia.. stay tuned 🙂
