what was the inspiration behind the single shujaa
My previous release, ‘In Your Hands’, was a powerful message about climate change & featured excerpts from Sir David Attenborough’s impassioned speech he delivered to the United Nations. With all the turmoil & death & destruction happening in the world today, I wanted to create a more fun & joyful track to unite people on the dance floor & create a more hands-in-the-air moment.

My music is an intoxicating blend of Afro, Latin & ethnic vibes intertwined with organic & melodic house sounds.

What artists are rockin’ your world right now? There’s quite a few, but I’m loving the music from Brazilian producer, Maz, Canadian/Iranian duo, Mili & Hoomance, Joezi, Alex Twin, Naarly, The Angels & Keinmusik.
can tell us more about you playing at Keanu Reeves Matrix after party 🙂
Can tell us more about you playing at Keanu Reeves Matrix after party? It was a NYE party held on Double Island, off the coast of Far North Queensland. Keanu had just finished shooting Matrix 3 & I was booked to play at his party. Keanu plays in a punk band called Dogstar & I when I met him early in the evening, I told him that I would like to entertain him & his guests to the best of my ability, so if he had any particular music he wanted me to play, I would be most obliging. There was only 60 people on the island, all guests of Keanu, that included Brad Pitt, Jennifer Aniston & a host of other celebs. I had about 70% of the guests dancing & around 4:30am, the bass player in Keanu’s band approached me with a book of CDs & asked me to play some of them. He had post-it notes like ‘Disc 2, Track 4’, so I started playing his music. It was all full on punk music. The dance floor was packed & I was watching all of these celebrities pogoing around to the punk music under the palm trees thinking this was the most surreal DJ experience I had ever had. I can also tell you that Keanu really is a true gentleman with a heart of gold!
