The Pioneer CDJ-1000, single-handedly transformed the DJ game. Throughout the 1990s, audio equipment companies attempted to create a device that could faithfully replicate the art of vinyl DJing, with little success. DJs were hesitant to embrace the digital revolution. Then, in 2001, Pioneer released the CDJ-1000.
Featuring “Vinyl Mode,” which significantly improved jog wheel performance, the CDJ-1000 was widely acknowledged as the first CD player capable of accurately emulating a vinyl turntable, including the ability to scratch. This quickly established the CDJ-1000 as an industry standard for DJs.
Essentially, this launch marked the beginning of the digital age for DJs and clubs worldwide, forever changing the art form.
