How was House Music born?
In the 70s it was all about Disco until disco became a dirty word. House music became the first direct descendant of disco in the early 80s. It’s said “House was born from the ashes of Disco” after the launch of an anti-disco movement.
Early DJ innovators such as Frankie Knuckles, Larry Levan, and DJ Ron Hardy played a pivotal role in evolving disco into early house music. These revered DJs forever shaped the modern dance scene. But it was the one and only FRANKIE KNUCKLES – a resident at the club WAREHOUSE in Chicago- responsible for officially coining the term “HOUSE.”
This iconic club and DJ shaped and created the term House Music.. in turn, changing the way of electronic music forever!
